Size Matters

Wearing the right nursing and maternity bra is important during your pregnancy and breast feeding. Not only to provide you with the much needed support but also to ensure you’re comfortable as you increase cup sizes at various stages. Generally during your pregnancy you may increase a full cup size or more and band size which you may notice this around 16-20 weeks into your pregnancy. Once baby arrives within three to four days post pregnancy you may again increase a full cup size or more but go down a band size as your rib cage goes to pre pregnancy size. Below are some tips on helping you choose the right bra for you:

- make sure the straps are wide enough and adjustable to provide you with support

- if you plan on breast feeding your baby invest in a nursing bra in the beginning of your pregnancy so you can wear it throughout the 37+ weeks and while breast feeding

- invest in at least one neutral colour bra and black bra as basics to wear under your maternity wear and nursing wear

- a good well fitted bra that provides you with the support may help minimise stretch marks

- make sure you have hooks at the back that can be adjusted to your comfort

- you should have no overflow from the top or sides of your cups and the hook should fit comfortably around your rib cage on the tightest hook initially and then increase to last further into pregnancy

We stock the international brand spring maternity nursing bras, with the entire range of bras at the affordable price of $39.95.

Quick nursing tip, leave the drop cup kwick clip off ie don't click it in after nursing this helps you remember which side you feed last. Or you can try tucking a tissue in the strap and changing it each time you feed.

Make sure you measure yourself and use a conversion chart to find your correct size .Size really does matter when it comes to fitting yourself with the right maternity/nursing bra.

Peek a boo - I see you!

We hope you had a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year. Congratulations to all the new parents and welcome to the world new babies.

Mummyliciouswear.com is proud to announce a new range to our site to kick off the New Year. Peek-a-boo maternity! A brand that has revolutionised maternity wear and the pregnancy/nursing experience in so many ways!
Peek-a-boo maternity and nursing collection takes into consideration the changes in a woman's body from early pregnancy through nursing. The designs enable the mother to breastfeed without exposing herself, keeping mother-baby eye contact while still looking stylish.  Concealing the less-favourable tummy and back areas the fashionable design allows a woman to continue with her daily activities without anyone suspecting she is wearing a nursing shirt.
The cute, Peek-a-boo signature duck illustration is situated in the inside of the garment and is revealed only while breastfeeding, giving the baby something to look at and provides the mother with a little reminder where she last fed from.

At Mummyliciouswear.com we know and understand that nursing wear is important to breastfeeding mothers and with our ever growing nursing wear range we are sure you will find something that you like which is fashionable but also importantly comfortable. We believe that our discreet nursing wear is not only convenient for nursing mothers but it is also means that if you’re on the run, out and about or just need to give your baby a quick feed our nursing wear range allows you to do this.

Our favourite from the Peek-a-boo range is the Angel Sleeve Nursing Wear Top in grass green or black. If you like this style it is also available in Angel Summer Dress in black.

Back to basics

Pregnancy... That beautiful glow and excitement women feel, can also in reality make most women feel uncomfortable at some stage. If it's not nausea (especially in the first trimester) and exhaustion it may be that growing belly particularly when you hit the 4-5 month mark. You find your normal clothes somewhat tight around the waist, hips, thighs and bust!!

Larger size clothing may make you look like a tent or fit around the belly but not the arms and gapes here and there, maternity wear really is a great investment. Not only does it fit perfect in all the right places and stretch and grow with your pregnant belly, most maternity wear usually is made out of soft stretch fabric to keep you comfortable all day and night long. The maternity wear available on our online shop should last you from pregnancy to post pregnancy and if you choose a nursing wear these will last you through nursing your newborn. Not only will you feel comfortable but our maternity wear and nursing wear is designed to make you feel and look beautiful, even on those no fuss days.

Go back to basics for your wardrobe, and build or layer your maternity wear from there. Start with our must have soon maternity leggings (in knee or long length). You can't go wrong with a classic black dress or wrap dress. A pair of denim jeans will take you through four seasons and 9 months and beyond. Try our soon maternity classic black cotton shorts or ripe maternity lancaster suit pants for work or play. Check out the mummyliciouswear classic maternity wear section and find something to suit you.
